About Me
Dr. Barbara Knox is a leading voice in child protection and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics, and currently serves as a Child Protection Team physician and Director of multiple fellowships focused on child abuse and pediatric emergency medicine. With a medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, residency at the Mayo Clinic, and fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Dr. Barbara Knox brings deep experience to both clinical and academic roles. She is Principal Investigator on numerous grants and research projects. Her primary research focuses include child torture and sexual torture as forms of abuse. She has authored widely on burns of abuse, abusive head trauma, and complex child maltreatment.
